Newport Weekend Style

As you all know from my earlier post, this past weekend I went to Newport, Rhode Island. It was one of the best weekends I have had in such a long time. It was relaxing, fun and overall just a nice way to spend the weekend. Sometimes living in New York City gets to be overwhelming, so I will take any excuse to get out when I can. I tried to take some pictures this weekend but someone (no names will be mentioned) forgot to charge the camera, so please excuse the iPhone pictures. What I Bought: J.Crew Sample Sale

As promised, below you will find the items that I purchased at the J.Crew sample sale. Before we look at the items, let me give you a window into the overall experience. When I got there I waited in line for an hour (the longest I've ever waited out of three I've gone to). When I got in, it was out of control. The three secrets to a sample sale sucess begins with grabbing something you like and decide later. Secondly, follow the employees when they return items to the racks after individuals did not want them. Lastly, when people ditch things last minute, take them and add this to your to be decided pile.

I came out with items shown below (plus one more navy pencil skirt not shown) for myself, as well as a button up and polo for my boyfriend. All items totally $200. You can't beat that.

J.Crew Sample Sale

I know I did this with the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale (seen here), but I had to do it again and let all my NYC readers know that there is a J.Crew sample sale taking place this week!

Where: 260 Fifth Avenue (between 28th and 29th)

When: June 19th - June 24th

When: 10AM - 8PM (Tuesday-Saturday)
           Noon - 5PM (Sunday)

Lovely Home Decor

It is no surprise that with my love of fashion, comes my love of pretty, sophisticated and elegant home decor. Everyone has their own taste, but the above picture I found on Pinterest really inspired today's blog post. My favorite colors for the home are greys, tans, blues and whites. Best Weekend Bag

Perfect Summer Swimsuits

Sorry its been a while guys! I have been traveling for work like crazy and have barely had any time to myself. While I say that, last weekend I did get to attend a pool party and it got me thinking. I had recently purchased a new bathing suit and liked it, but I wasn't as wow'd by the other suits I saw. Was it the fit? Was it the color? Was it the overall look? Sometimes I think that people forget to really buy a bathing suit that flatters both in color and in fit. Oh My Sales

Sometimes I tell myself I'll be good and not shop as much this month. Sometimes amazing sales happen and crush those hopes and aspirations. This week was no exception. While I was sad I could not make the Milly or DVF sample sales in NYC, the below items well made up for it. From J.Crew to Kate Spade, I found deals that were simply amazing. Brands I Love: Inslee By Design

Do I need to say anything more after the picture above? Sigh. I stumbled upon Inslee By Design a while back and did not really take the time to appreciate the beautiful sketches. They are not only gorgeous, but they capture an essence of fashion and classical style. I saw two prints I had to pick up and I cannot wait to put them up in my room and in my hallway (yes I have carefully thought through the placement of these prints).
