Lovely Candles

There is nothing that warms up a room like a candle. The vibe that it gives off and the warm cozy feeling it exudes makes me utterly content with the cold air that has been coming our way. There have been more and more candles that have caught my eye (and nose) recently that I wanted to share. The candles range in price, but I feel as though they are truly great investments.

Dreaming of Fall Fashion

I saw the picture above on Pinterest and fell in love. I don't know what it is, but as the last days of August fall upon us, it reminds me more and more that my favorite season of all is approaching. The only thing I would add to the above picture is football and spending Sunday's doing nothing but eating, drinking, being with friends, and watching games. Back to fashion, you will find below some fall outerwear items that I have my eye on. While I may not be able to wear them today in the 80 degree weather, I will be wearing them in the upcoming weeks.

Style Crush: Sequins and Stripes

We all have a fashion crush. Someone who we look to emulate and dress more like, who's fashion sense is very similar to our own. Summer Escapes

Well in case you were wondering where I have been for the past week (or two....), I was enjoying the lovely Cape Cod/Nantucket sun for a few days off from work. I have barely been on a computer for a week which was a much needed break. The weekend before last, I got to explore Newport and Jamestown as well. Stacy London: Style Twin

Do you know that moment when you see a celebrity, or your favorite blogger (who are mini celebrities to those of us who read blogs) rocking an item you already own? For me, the moment happened a few months ago when Blair Eadie of Atlantic Pacific uploaded an Instagram photo of the same old navy sailboat blouse I had worn the day before. Well, a similar event occured last night when I saw Stacy London rocking a Milly dress I had purchased on sale almost 8 months ago. Newport Weekend Style

As you all know from my earlier post, this past weekend I went to Newport, Rhode Island. It was one of the best weekends I have had in such a long time. It was relaxing, fun and overall just a nice way to spend the weekend. Sometimes living in New York City gets to be overwhelming, so I will take any excuse to get out when I can. I tried to take some pictures this weekend but someone (no names will be mentioned) forgot to charge the camera, so please excuse the iPhone pictures. What I Bought: J.Crew Sample Sale

As promised, below you will find the items that I purchased at the J.Crew sample sale. Before we look at the items, let me give you a window into the overall experience. When I got there I waited in line for an hour (the longest I've ever waited out of three I've gone to). When I got in, it was out of control. The three secrets to a sample sale sucess begins with grabbing something you like and decide later. Secondly, follow the employees when they return items to the racks after individuals did not want them. Lastly, when people ditch things last minute, take them and add this to your to be decided pile.

I came out with items shown below (plus one more navy pencil skirt not shown) for myself, as well as a button up and polo for my boyfriend. All items totally $200. You can't beat that.
