Amazing Labor Day Weekend Sales

One of my readers recently requested a post on affordable Labor Day dresses. The problem with Labor Day is, that it comes at a time where it begins to feel like fall, while still being summer. This makes purchasing a new dress difficult because you want to make sure the dress you are getting is versatile. Hunter x Rag&Bone Collaboration

Who doesn't love Hunter boots? I have a classic black pair that I have worn through snowstorms, monsoons, and mud pits {thank you Governor's Ball}. While I love the classic look, I died a little when I saw the collaboration Hunter was having with Rag&Bone. How amazing are these?

Details for the Home

Sometimes we find an image that inspires us to decorate, to re-do a living space, or to simply improve upon what we already have. Recently on Pinterest I have found so many amazing details, that I have fallen in love with the idea decorating my apartment again. I have lived there for over two years now, and while I just rearranged and put an office space in my room {preview found on Instagram and Facebook}, I want to add details to my apartment that make it more me. Warby Parker & Loren Hope

As I am sure you have seen on other blogs and pinterest, the new Loren Hope look book is everything. What struck me the most was the perfect styling of the jewelry, clothes and accessories. Being as I am a big glasses person (seen here and here), I had my eyes on the Warby Parker glasses featured above. I loved the combination of the tortoise and the black! Warby Parker is known for their amazing customer service and they proved better than ever when I reached out to them and asked them what these glasses were.

Turns out, these glasses are the Winston in Walnut Tortoise with Black Temples, however they are retired. After speaking to Karen, from Warby Parker, she assured me she would look as hard as she could for them. A few days later, in my inbox was an amazing e-mail from Karen letting me know she had located a pair and gave me her direct number to reach her in order to secure a pair. Thank you Karen and the Warby Parker team!

I cannot believe this is my 100th post you guys! Having started this blog in March 2012, I never thought that it would be such a source of pleasure and excitement. What to Watch For NYC: I Know the Chef

 



Last night I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive, exciting event at the Greenwich Project for I Know the Chef. Upon arrival, my friend Caroline and I were warmly greeted by Joshua, the founder of I Know the Chef, and handed two delicious cocktails. The party guests at this event, along with energy of the restaurant, made you realize how lucky you are to have Monday nights like this!--only in NYC. Not only were there free drinks, but the free appetizers passed around were absolutely delicious (watermelon goat cheese anyone?).

Now you might be asking, what is I Know the Chef? This company founded a few months ago, allows you to make reservations on-line or on your phone to get into the top restaurants and bars in NYC. Trying to make dinner reservations at a trendy restaurant and there are none available? They have you covered. Last minute bottle service at the best clubs in the city? You got it. Oh and did I mention the best perk of all? You will be treated as though you know the chef at any of these places. Talk about impressive.

Some people hate it, but I personally love dressing for work. That feeling of being a young business professional in New York City and dressing the part is exciting to me. Brands I Love: Camilyn Beth

Have I been living under a rock? Featured yesterday on Atlantic Pacific (who credits that she heard about this brand through WHIT & Whimsy), I fell in love instantly with the amazing women's wear brand Camilyn Beth. I feel like I just played a game of telephone tag and I am the last one to know about his amazing line. Her dresses are SPOT on. Scallop details, sequins, color choices, what else could be better? Oh, and did I mention that they are made to order dresses! Now the hard part is deciding which one to get!

For those of you who follow me on twitter or instagram know, I had been looking for the perfect business card publisher. I asked around to a few bloggers (thanks Carly!) and did my own research. This is where I found Tiny Prints. I don't know if it is the cute elephant that caught my eye or the amazing customer service, but they truly helped me design the perfect business card.

What is a good business card without the perfect place to put it though, right? That is where Clare Vivier came into play. I love her clutches and I absolutely love this mini version I purchased to hold my business cards.

Fashion Trend: Baseball Caps

Whether it be seeing this trend on the NYC streets or reading it on fashion blogs, I am seeing baseball caps everywhere. These aren't your normal team sport oriented baseball caps either (while I still love those); these are made for the fashion forward girl who may want to edge up an outfit or simply cover a bad hair day. I think a hat can be a perfect addition to an outfit. J.Crew recently came out with a few perfect baseball caps for fall that I am dying over. Which one is your favorite? C.Wonder SoHo

As I mentioned on my instagram and twitter, last Friday my friend and I hit up the C.Wonder store in SoHo to get a free tote bag with purchase! I have never been to this particular C.Wonder store, but let me tell you, it was not only decorated beautifully, but the store had SO much selection. My friend ended up scoring some deals from the 50% already marked down items, and I purchased this cute ring set seen below (similiar found here). Overall, we walked away with some cute gear and a free NYC C.Wonder tote which was an added bonus! Check out some pictures from the event below.

What to Buy: Computer vs. Camera

 

So this upcoming week in Massachusetts (where I am from originally and where I am going for the weekend) we have two days of tax free spending. This is great when you want to purchase a big item and save that little extra. I know I have posted about what camera you all use, but now what is in question is do I purchase the camera or a new computer? My computer sadly does not work unless plugged in so I need one desperately. As of now I am fine with using my iPhone, iPad and work computer as back up's. What do you think is the smarter purchase?
